DC Multiverse Platinum Edition Lucius Fox (Batman Begins) Figure!?!

by Jay Cochran
August 1, 2024
Images have surfaced online for what appears to be a DC Multiverse Platinum Edition Lucius Fox (Batman Begins) figure from McFarlane Toys. Likely another figure already hitting overseas before getting officially announced. Lucius is also being released with the Batman Begins Tumbler vehicle. No word when or where this chase figure might start showing up in the US.

UPDATE: Looks like some place called Angel Grove is selling the figure for $50.

But what is the point of re-releasing the mold in such limited quantities? Platinums can't bring in that much revenue to anyone except resellers.

That my friend is a million dollars question ? ? ? ? ? ?

You're right of course.

Make everybody scrounge around for it, since Todd loves to force "the chase", then eventually do a 3rd release as a general one, for "Rises" since the Tumbler was the TDK version (for some baffling reason) and this is the Begins version. He ain't letting this mold go to waste. Then after that look for the inexplicable Glow in the Dark Amazon exclusive and the GameStop "Frostbite" versions, LOL.

Knew this was going to happen. I even tried to warn people in my Tumbler review. Todd's the king of re-use. No way he was just going to release Fox just that once.

Some collectors bought the Tumbler because they want Lucius Fox or Morgan Freeman figure especially .. I think that single release of the figure is gonna anger those people ?

I'd say those people can go be angry then. If they bought a $100.00 item just to get to the 6" figure, who cares their judgement. ESPECIALLY when anyone who's seen this McFarlane guy's stuff, knows full well he puts out the same thing over and over with just paint changes. It wouldn't surprise me if he uses this exact figure for a Jimmy Olsen figure, won't even bother to change the face, just repaint it. Worse, there are people who will buy it too.

Good likeness.

Secondary market going to be flooded with both versions but probably not enough to where it won't be expensive.

This would be cool to get.

Yep. Todd and crew doing sketchy crap yet again, exactly like they did with the Anne Hathaway Catwoman. If people wouldn't end up missing out on things they want, I'd say we should boycott McFarlane so they might open their ears and listen to how many people are becoming increasingly frustrated with their sometimes nonsensical and/or frustrating decisions. From what I can tell, however, the company seems to operate with Todd's mindset as its culture, which is that something has to nosedive into the ground before he pulls back and says, "Oh, that wasn't the best idea ever?"
