I haven't found The Question at retail, so I bought it online on eBay. I did find three Sportsmasters at various Targets on the pegs.
Those were my wants out of these latest chase figures.
Todd really stepped up with these Walmart & Target exclusives for the brick & mortar distribution. He knew he needed to support both chains to keep his lines in those stores.
I'm glad we're finally getting the Question. He looks pretty good here. A definite pick up for sure.
Randomly found Shining Knight at Walmart when I popped in for a sec, so that was nice. Box was a little dented but I don't care about that. On the fence about Question. Definitely don't care one iota about Effigy, what an easy pass that one is.

Why not?
Marvel makes this kind of figure all the time. We just have low expectations thanks to the endless Batman repaints.
It's good to see McFarlane giving us more obscure type figures, I would never guess that character like Shining Knight could get figure in Dc Multiverse line.
Makes no bloody point that they actually finally make new molds and new characters who are not Batman, and then make them exclusive... Even Hasbro learned that lesson when they made Cosmos or tape mode Soundwave a Walmart exclusive and are now releasing them in the mainline.
I never heard of Effigy, I am guessing he is a Kyle Ryner villain? Those weren't particularly memorable.
Wish they made the original Shining Knight. Never cared for the female one who had the weird backstory where some creepy faeries destroyed Camelot instead of Mordred and Morgan LeFay as per Etrigan/Jason's backstory.
Question is nice, but as people said, he should come with a swappable maskless face. And maybe some weapon. Also, his hat just feels too small for his head.
So sad about the question, his "face" is the most important part of his costume. As for Effigy ,I'm waiting on a "jokerized" version-that's what the public wants. ?

These are platinums only. There are no "regular" versions.
The idea is to produce limited quantities in an attempt to drive retail store traffic. I hate it as much, or more than anybody, but that's the reasoning. Todd is big on rare variants, whether it be comics, sports cards, etc so so he wanted to bring that back to figure collecting. I HATE it. If he was going to do it, I wish it was just with the stupid stuff that I'd never buy anyway, like all the Jokerized, Frozen, glow in the dark, black light or whatever else variants he does of A-Listers. For me, it's the obscure characters that I'm most interested in. I'm only ever going to own 1 Batman or 1 Superman, but I want 1 version of just about everybody (worldbuilding). For example, Shining Knight might be one of my most desired figures that he's made in the line. I have a Mattel version of Vic Sage. I have a DCD version of Effigy, but I've never had a figure of Shining Knight (except the smaller Justice League Unlimited figure, but that was actually a totally different character, Justin rather than Ystin(a)).
