I'm guessing that the Darker Colours of the Plantium Edition is to represent how Superman look in Superman III after he was infected with the Home Made Kytpontie, which cause his personality to be less heroic, and be a bit more of a jerk(I guess similar to how Red Kytpontie can affect his personality sometimes). After all, when that happened, his suit did start to get a darker colour scheme.

I was getting a superman 3 vibe off it too. Glad I'm not nuts.

The darker blue on the Superman III variant looks too dark. It also looks like he's missing the brown in his hair.

Ooo, the laser eye head included in the platinum is a nice touch.

I like the remolded body, it matches Reeves well. The alt head is a little wah wah wah for me. But I'm pretty happy with what I'm seseeing. Still not sure what exactly the platinum will be.

The likeness is worse than I thought compared to the previous images. Probably end up passing on this now.

Thanks to the Walmart website we have official images for the newly announced Superman: The Movie (1978) McFarlane Collector Edition #25 figure from McFarlane Toys. This figure will officially go up for pre-order on October 17th at 12pm ET at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore.com and Entertainment Earth!

This looks pretty solid and while Im not overly excited, Im definitely intrigued. To me, Superman 78 is still the quintessential live-action version of Superman. Christopher Reeve perfectly embodied what Superman should be, and that classic costume remains iconic.

Ive also really enjoyed the Superman 78 comics DC has been doing lately, set in the movie universe. Theyve done an excellent job capturing the feel and tone of the Christopher Reeve films, and this figure seems to tap into that same nostalgic vibe. From these preview shots, the sculpt looks solid, especially with Reeves likeness, and the S emblem stands out like it should. The articulation looks promising too, so Im curious to see how it handles those classic flight poses.

Im keeping an eye on this one for sure. If it turns out well, it could be a great addition to me and other fans of the Superman 78 film universe.

Oof. Straight on, that face is even worse than I thought.
