You're on target on the paint, lack of apps/wash really give it that Happy Meal feel. The DCUC version that came out like, 18 years ago? Looks far and away better than this cheap thing. And I would ask where the blue collar is but then again, its McFarlane, and very often, his attention to detail is even worse than hasbo's on Marvel figures. At least the articulation is expected to be better than the DC Classics Mattel.

Have to agree. That figure was superior in every way. Even when you remove his Astro-Harness it had a lot of paint detail as opposed to the new figure where it's only one boring color.

Fig looks pretty good but is just screaming for some paint apps/wash to move it away from that bit Happy Meal toy vibe.

That's a pretty decent Orion. I'm not a fan of the character, so I'll probably let it pass, but I'm glad for anyone who wants him

I'll heap all the scorn in the world on that pathetic "Wildcat", but I will say Orion doesn't look too shabby. The A4 could use a little paint or something to punch it up, though.

Shown below via robdtoys is an early in-hand look at the new DC Multiverse Target Exclusive Orion Figure from McFarlane Toys. Still no word on when these will be available online yet.

That demoralized Wildcat expression is Mcfarlane take on the "Sad Affleck"

I am SUPER disappointed with this release. The head sculpt is really off for Ted Grant. Plus, the lack of the clawed feet is cheap and sloppy. This is another example of how the Mattel DC Universe Classics got everything right with the line.

Ummm...you have either been living under a rock or have extremely low standards. Just one example needed (though others are available): the head sculpt on that video gamed based Superman (along with Flash, Aquaman, etc). One of the most ridiculous sculpts on any fig in recent memory, and that is far from just my opinion. Yes, they have done good stuff but to say it's all "gold" is just silly.

Unfortunately, I think some just get caught up in the "Brand" name (Hasbro, McFarlane, etc), instead of the products they're actually making. Quality, cost, doesn't factor. Example, that figure that was passed off as Sgt Rock. Doesn't look ANY thing like the character, doesn't begin to look like a WWII era uniform, and worse of all its not even wearing his signature, over-the-shoulder twin .30 caliber ammo belts. I have to agree with you, yeah, that's silly. They also just put out a Superman figure on the gold label, that looks ok (if you can overlook the weak legs) but that figure is actually smaller than the Black Lightning figure from last year.

At best, looks like a teen version of Wildcat. Dude is supposed to be more of a thick beast. Maybe in person...just not impressed with these photos, including the attempted highlights on the suit.
