McFarlane already marked my Icon as shipped! That was fast! Gamestop had a March date, I believe.
The new DC Multiverse Icon and Rocket Icon (Gold Label) 7-in Action Figure from McFarlane Toys is now available for pre-order from Gamestop & McFarlaneToysStore with a suggested retail price of $22.99.

It appears they jumped the gun on the pre-order.

It's not too crazy, when you think about it. It's actually kind of predictable. McFarlane overproduced for a looooonnng while, resulting in nearly everything eventually going for perpetual half price, deep clearance, discount stores, etc. So they cut back on production numbers, (as any company would) and now what's being produced is more scarce and now it doesn't quite meet demand. Collectors and scalpers both know this, so they grab the pre-orders for the obvious sell-outs as soon as they can (new characters, long awaited versions of characters, popular characters and so on). What will happen from here is that they'll eventually up the production numbers, probably learning the wrong lesson from these immediate sell-outs and overestimating demand once again, and we'll be right back where we started as the pendulum swings back- too much product and not enough buyers, a glut of product, etc etc.
At the end of the day, if you're truly interested in a figure, unless you want to test your luck with finding it in stores (still a decent avenue, for the most part) keep an eye on when it's going to drop and be ready to snatch it up. Unless it's that Tempest. It's a safe bet that thing ain't selling out anytime soon.

To the best of my knowledge we hadn't seen any mention of Nightmaster prior to this so might be one of those Platinum exclusives (or whatever color they're going to be going forward) that don't have any standard version widely available.
That is interesting. Being that he's 2 per pack I guess he won't be rare, but it's curious that they didn't announce him at the same time as the others.

I'm confused here....why do you want it, but object to the head sculpt? Because that's how his eyes looked back in the 40s animated show. I'm no cheerleader for McFarlane but this one is really fairly accurate, for what it's supposed to be.

Rocket is Icon's partner. In the comics she inspired Icon to take a more active role in the community after a long numbers of years of inactivity. Icon had a more Booker T mind state that Rocket managed to successfully shatter by making him confront some realities his long life allowed him to forget.
