TruForce Collectibles, LLC., a new manufacturer and supplier of collectible pop-culture merchandise, is turning to the Internet to raise funds for the creation of their first-ever collectible action figure, X, from Mega Man X. TruForce is working with Capcom to create the officially licensed product. Many startups embrace sites like Kickstarter.com to get their ideas up and running and TruForce is following suit as it calls upon all the dedicated Mega Man fans around the world to contribute to the campaign.
The
Kickstarter campaign is set to run for 40 days and is aiming to reach a $200,000 fundraising goal to help cover all of the production costs commonly associated with toy production: sculpting, molding, tooling, painting, assembly and more. The budget also takes other costs into account such as backer rewards and event participation. By donating to the campaign, fans will have an opportunity to make an incredible action figure a reality and be treated to some exciting backer rewards that are exclusive only to them.
When asked about why Kickstarter was appealing, TruForce Brand Manager, Jared Kasan stated, “A platform like Kickstarter enables people to gather in one location and contribute directly to a cause they believe in. Mega Man fans are amongst the most loyal fans in the world and we believe they will join together to bring an amazing rendition of X to their shelves. With the ability to spread information like wildfire on the Internet, we are confident fans will join together, spread the word and help us raise enough money to reach our Kickstarter goal.”
Based on his portrayal in the Mega Man X series and newly reinterpreted by a talented Capcom Artist, X serves as the quintessential Mega Man X figure. Fans will of course recognize Mega Man’s iconic look but also be treated to a uniquely fresh design that features sleek lines, enhanced detail and more advanced armor. Furthermore, the figure will cater to fans’ demands for dynamic displays via a complex joint system (over 30 points of articulation), LED functionality, diecast armored parts on the torso, legs and feet and come with customizable effects parts as well.
