DC COMICS RUSHES BATMAN #619 BACK TO PRESS
Following a stunning one-day sell-out at DC Comics, BATMAN #619 is going back to press for a second printing. BATMAN #619 Second Printing (JUL035225) features a new cover by Jim Lee & Scott Williams, and is scheduled to be in stores on October 22. Please note that this is a standard, single-panel cover.
"How cool is this? I'm so happy that Jim gets to continue to draw the Bat right away," says Loeb. "And I'm hoping that all this excitment carries over to #620 "I've seen what Azz and Risso are doing, and it rocks!"
"With a sell-out as fast as this one, it's clear that demand is going to continue for a while yet," says Bob Wayne, DC's VP Sales & Marketing. "We're glad to give the retailers this opportunity to put more copies of BATMAN #619 on their shelves."
"When Bob set the original print run, we all were taken aback," says Dan DiDio, DC's VP Editorial. "But retailers and fans exceeded even what we considered to be his wild expectations."
Jim Lee was unavailable for comment, as he was busy drawing this issue's new cover.
BATMAN #619 Second Printing (JUL035225) is available for order now and is scheduled to arrive in stores on October 22 with a cover price of $2.25 U.S. This issue has an order increase cut-off date of Sunday, October 12.
SOLD OUT: SUPERMAN/BATMAN SECRET FILES 2003
With sales momentum for SUPERMAN/BATMAN continuing, SUPERMAN/BATMAN SECRET FILES 2003 (JUL030168) has sold out at DC Comics six days before its in-store date of October 1.
"The success of this issue is especially rewarding since some of the comics world's finest creators put forth such an amazing effort," says SECRET FILES editor Ivan Cohen. "From Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale reuniting on Superman for the first time since SUPERMAN FOR ALL SEASONS and on Batman for the first time since DARK VICTORY to Geoff Johns and his brother Jeremy co-writing the lead, Ivan Reis making his Superman debut, Mark Waid giving us a 'missing chapter' of SUPERMAN: BIRTHRIGHT, and more, this really turned out to be a great supplement to one of the DCU's hottest titles."
"This was another strong issue of SECRET FILES, tying to a very popular book,"says Bob Wayne, DC's VP Sales & Marketing. "Based on this very early sell-out, we urge retailers to increase orders on both SUPERMAN/BATMAN and upcoming SECRET FILES issues."
