BATMAN #619 IS DIAMOND'S TOP-SELLING TITLE FOR SEPTEMBER!
BATMAN #619, the explosive conclusion to the 12-part adventure "Hush," is the best-selling comic book released in September, according to Diamond Comic Distributors. The issue, which sold out at DC Comics in one day, is written by Jeph Loeb with art by Jim Lee and Scott Williams.
"This was much more a surprise than some of our sell-outs because September was a very competitive month," says Jim Lee. "There was ferocious competition from other books like the great 1602 and the equally fabulous JLA/AVENGERS. Really, we thought we might have to settle for second or third place! We can't thank the fans and the retailers enough. It's always cool to be at #1, but the other contenders really show the growing strength of the market."
"This news is pretty amazing," says Group Editor Bob Schreck. "Talk about going out with a bang! It's nice to see all the hard work that everyone put into this project come together like this."
"BATMAN #619 rose to the top of the sales charts due in large part to the phenomenal support of the retailers," says Bob Wayne, DC's VP Sales & Marketing. "Initial orders remained high on every issue of the series, and retailers showed incredible enthusiasm for the series from start to finish."
As a reminder, BATMAN #619 Second Printing (JUL035225) is available for order now and is scheduled to arrive in stores on October 22 with a cover price of $2.25 U.S.
