If you have been reading comics I’m sure you’ve heard of the crisis coming up from DC. This was one of those events that were planned a long time ago. You start to think back to the past storylines where the seeds were planted. Right now, I would say the biggest story involving the Crisis would have to be Sacrifice which spun out of the OMAC Project.

In case you don’t know what Sacrifice is it was a four part story which ran through July’s Superman, Action Comics, Adventures of Superman, and Wonder Woman. I waited a little while to post this seeing as this greatly affects the latest OMAC Project and the DCU. I know there are some who complain about having to read these issues to understand what happens in the latest issue of OMAC. I can agree to those who did not want to buy more just to get the full picture of one story. It wasn’t a problem for me since I was on three out of the four titles. The one I wasn’t on which was Action Comics ended up being the one I liked the least and one I could of skipped.

From here on out, there are nothing but spoilers. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

The point of Sacrifice was to break up the Trinity. The Trinity is made up of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. You notice they have there own little group within the JLA. Maxwell Lord was able to take control of Superman. Superman was convinced that he was fighting Brainiac, Darkseid, or Ruin. He was seeing them harm Lois or anyone he cared about.

It was later revealed to Superman by the JLA that the victim of his attack was really his ally, Batman. After Martian Manhunter has a look into Superman’s mind he learns that Lord is behind this. Wonder Woman decides to take Batman home as they deal with Superman. While she is gone Superman escapes leaving Wonder Woman to deal with Superman at Checkmate. The fight between Wonder Woman vs. Superman controlled by Lord took place in Wonder Woman. I must say this was one of the best fights ever in a long time. Superman went all out on her, shooting her in the face with heat vision, breaking her wrist, it was brutal. Wonder Woman ended up getting some shots in as well, towards the end she really surprised me as she did what was needed to free Superman, killing Maxwell Lord.

Spoilers are somewhat over, but still possible at this point.

The Sacrifice story turned out to be one heck of a story. In general the DC titles are all one big story now. They all are slowly relating to the crisis in different ways. I guess you can say I may be having a crisis overload here. It seems some characters to me are just appearing everywhere now. I love the DC Universe and what they are doing still. Let me talk about a few other Crisis related titles.

Return of Donna Troy
I expected a lot from this considering the hype it was getting and so far it has put me to sleep. I wanted a reason to really care about Donna seeing as they were making her seem like an important character to the crisis. Just can’t wait till the mini is over to see where she goes.

Villains United
This has been a really great series so far. They are actually making me give a crap about Catman! It is great when you are cheering for the bad guys. You have to wonder who Mockingbird really is and what the Society plans to do with the six after there escape.

JSA Classified
Fantastic first issue! Makes you really feel bad for Power Girl. You have to wonder what her origins really are and what does the Legion have to do with it?

Firestorm
Firestorm will be crossing over with Villains United soon. The Society has had its eye on him for awhile. Question is what do they need him for? Great time to check out a title that could use a few readers.

Catwoman
The Society will be making a run for her turf soon. Which side will she pick? So far this has been another gem that no one reads. The new creative team rocks so far.

Green Lantern & Rann/Thanagar
Over in the cosmic side of the DC universe, war is being waged. Green Lantern will be crossing into this event soon as they promised earlier. How will this affect the crisis?

Nightwing
I predict by the time Crisis starts, Nightwing will be on the wrong side. I think he will get in to deep to the point he can’t come back.

Teen Titans & Outsiders
The team was hit hard recently. Due to Lex and Brainiac’s attack, the events have forced Nightwing and Superboy to leave there teams. This could be the worst time for these heroes to split.

JLA
I also guessed the JLA would be disbanded by the time Crisis starts. There is too much tension between our heroes and too many lies. So if this does happen who will be the new JLA?

Overall, story wise, DC has been taking it to a whole new level. The tie-ins can get a little annoying. (What doesn’t tie in these days?) I just figure don’t buy them all, just buy the ones you feel will be worth it. I hope you are enjoying this Crisis as much as I am, still have no idea what to expect.
