The J. Jonah Jameson looks a bit better in these images but I still don't like the look of these.

Now that I see the figures again I must say that the design of the Omni Man figure reminds me a little of that of the figures from the DCUC or DC multiverse line, while Invincible reminds me a little of the generic buck all the male DC Essentials had.

Today, Skybound Entertainment and Diamond Select Toys announced new INVINCIBLE action figures hitting stores in Summer 2021. From the Skybound/Image superhero comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the new line will feature Invincible and his father Omni-Man, each with interchangeable parts and accessories. The figures will stand at seven inches, and each will come with a second angry head, multiple interchangeable hands, and baseball gloves. Invincible will come with a baseball and a Reanimen head, while Omni-Man will come with a chunk of concrete and a Flaxan arm. Each figure will feature approximately 18 points of articulation.INVINCIBLE follows Mark Grayson, who as a teenager inherits his fathers superhuman strength. The comic book series ran for 144 issues and an animated series will debut on Amazon Prime in 2021.

Its a thrill to be working on Invincible action figures for the new animated series, said DST president Chuck Terceira. The comic was groundbreaking, and the animated version should be unlike anything that has been seen before. Its the perfect time to launch a toy line, and I think collectors will be very happy with the product weve developed.Available for pre-order through comic shops and specialty stores on December 23rd, the accessory-packed figures will arrive in summer of 2021, with streamlined versions coming to Walgreens stores. You can pre-order the regular versions at our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com

now.

I feel like the toy companies are moving to 7inch collector lines to make you rebuy all the figures you already own. I Don't like it and I can't afford it.

They don't have much choice. It comes down to licensing restrictions. Only one company at a time can make characters in a specific scale, so if you can't do 6" then you have to do 7" and if you can't do 6" plastic and don't want to do 7" plastic then you can do 6" plastic with diecast parts like Disney Store Star Wars. I guess it doesn't extend to Japan since they obviously have 6" SW lines but maybe it has something to do with something I don't know about. Regardless they are a business and they're going to do what nets them the most money because that's the only reason they make toys is to make money and I don't have a problem with that. I also don't have to buy it.

really it was just Mattel and Hasbro who did the 6' stuff.

. . . and Jazwares, some Neca, Mezco, some DCD, S.H.Figuarts, Mafex, Funko's Legacy figures, Fwoosh's Articulated Icons: I could go on. I think at this point, pound for pound, most companies do AT LEAST dabble in 1/12th, with the vast majority of mass-market figures being in thatscale.

So is it because they are based on the animated series that they look so cheap? Let's not even get into that awful hip setup.

supermancrotch - 2020-12-19 @ 5:07 pm

7 inches!!!!!!!!!! is too tall!!!!!!!!!!! i hate this scale

SpiderS - 2020-12-19 @ 4:58 pm

Sculpts are good for source material but that leg "crotch" articulation is weak, not just visually bad but also problematic due to having more parts than your simple ball jointed legs.
