MGM Home Entertainment is prepping up a new special edition for the Steven King tale Christine, coming to DVD this fall.

She was born in Detroit on an automobile assembly line, but she is no ordinary automobile. Deep within her chassis lives an unholy presence. She is Christine, a red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury whose unique standard equipment includes an evil, indestructible vengeance that will destroy anyone in her way. She seduces 17-year-old Arnie Cunningham who becomes consumed with passion for her sleek, rounded chrome-laden body. She demands his complete and unquestioned devotion and when outsiders seek to interfere, they become the victims of Christine's horrifying wrath. John Carpenter brings Stephen King's best-selling novel to life in this chilling thriller.

Presented in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Surround, the DVD will also feature commentary with John Carpenter and Keith Gordon, 20 deleted scenes, the featurettes "Christine: Fast and Furious," "Christine: Finish Line" and "Christine: Ignition" and filmographies.

Lock your garages. The DVD will carry a list price of $19.94 and will arrive on September 28th.

Dark Horizons has the latest images from the new Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

Plot: A deadly virus has been unleashed on the population of Raccoon City. "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" is a terrifying adventure in survival horror. Milla Jovovich returns as Alice, one of only two survivors of the contained biochemical disaster in the first "Resident Evil," the $100 million hit that serves as a prologue to the all-out action and horror of "Resident Evil: Apocalypse". The film begins where the first film left off, with Alice in the heart of the ravaged and deadly Raccoon City. She has been subjected to biogenetic experimentation by the vast Umbrella Corporation and become genetically altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive. Alice is joined by Jill Valentine (Guillory), a recently demoted member of Umbrella Corp's elite Special Tactics and Rescue Services (S.T.A.R.S.), Terri Morales (Holt), Carlos Oliviera (Fehr), L.J. (Epps), and Nicholai (Ward) who must survive and escape what is quickly becoming a City of the Dead. To reach their goal, they will need to battle their way through the relentless onslaught of the ravenous undead, as well as Umbrella forces and terrifying bioengineered weapons, the most deadly of which is the colossal, heavily armed assassin, Nemesis.

MGM and Dimension Films are currently filming The Amityville Horror remake, and an unofficial Ryan Reynolds website has landed new set pictures from the location at Silver Lake in Salem, WI of the house being used for exterior shots. Shooting is also taking place in Buffalo Grove, IL at a sound stage.

The Andrew Douglas-directed horror film also stars Jimmy Bennett, Melissa George, Philip Baker Hall, Jesse James, Chloe Moretz, and Rachel Nichols. It is scheduled for an April 15 release.

Mel Gibson has reportedly been offered a fat $30 million to strap on the gun holster again for a fifth and final chapter in the life of that of Martin Riggs.

With "Mad Max : Fury Road" indefinitely shelved, Gibson is said to be open to a "Lethal Weapon 5", made even more alluring by the lucrative offer Warner have made him.

Mel's main concern about doing another "Lethal Weapon" is that he believes he's too old for the action sequences. Again, easily fixed by greenbacks.

Funnily enough, it might be co-star Danny Glover that needs to be coaxed into doing it. Glover announced a few years back that he doesn't intend on doing another one, and is apparently standing by that decision. Should he not return, one possibility that's been discussed a few times is bringing in Chris Rock's character, Lee Butters,to fill the void.

Richard Donner is likely to again direct, should it come off. Though he hasn't yet put pen to paper, he apparently has a story in mind.

The "Lethal Weapon" films are one of the most profitable movie franchises in Hollywood history, making a combined $US500 million at the US box office.

Gibson's $30 million dollar salary offer is the amount believed to have been offered to Bruce Willis for a "Die Hard 4", Sylvester Stallone for a "Rambo 4" and Harrison Ford for the next "Indiana Jones".

Cinescape heard from someone who is auditioning for a role in Universal's "American Pie 4". The reader had the following to say about the plot :

"All the original characters have moved on, except there will be a cameo by Finch. Stifler's little brother Matt, wants to join his brother's business (Stifler has hit it big producing Girls Gone Wild videos) and after everything Matt has heard from Jim's bandgeek wife Michelle, he plans to go back to band camp and make a video of his own.... Bandies Gone Wild."

Wonder if that means Eddie Kaye Thomas is going to appear as Finch? Not like he's too busy...

Meanwhile, Moviehole has got hold of the official casting call sheet for the film.

AMERICAN PIE 4 - CASTING

STORY LINE: When a group of musically inclined high school students spend the summer at Band Camp, they find their lives ruined when manic prankster MATT STIFLER joins their ranks, and his sex-obsessed antics transforms their musical summer into an orgy of practical jokes and candid-camera videos that makes Matt the Most Hated Clown In Band Camp History...

Seeking:

MATT STIFLER: 17 years old, the younger brother of veteran horndog Steven Stifler, Matt too is a case of wild, uninhibited id. Whenever someone talks about the lowest common denominator, they're talking about Matt Stifler. Matt is about to become a senior at East Great Falls High, and he's a prankster jock class clown who thinks that the universe revolves around his boner. The kind of perennial practical joker who thinks that inappropriately placed pepper spray and green Jell-O improve every solemn social occasion, Matt is exiled to band camp for the summer when he's on the verge of getting expelled, and hopes that he can use this setback to produce a "Bandies Gone Wild" video and follow in his older brother's footsteps. Successful in alienating the other bandies by following his own sex-crazed ego into one escapade after another, Matt tries ineptly to win the heart of Elyse -- but every time he almost convinces her that he has a serious, soulful, musical side, he ruins that impression by trotting out the "Stiffmeister" aspect of his personality and putting it on public display. Horrified to learn that he's regarded by his judgmental peers as an insensitive emotional retard, Matt takes serious steps to improve his testosterone-driven personality, and gives Elyse a sign that he's capable for one brief shining moment of thinking about someone else's needs...LEAD (1)

Moviehole caught up with "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle" director Danny Leiner today who gave us an update on how the proposed sequel - "Harold and Kumar go to Amsterdam" - is shaping up.

Leiner, currently editing his post-911 movie "The Great New Wonderful", says it's in the writing stages. At the moment they've got as far as deciding that they want Neil Patrick Harris to come back for it.

"I hope he does it, we’re going to write him into it. I think it would be great" he says, "the movie’s going to be called Harold and Kumar go to Amsterdam, so we could have him pop up over there".

Leiner also shed a bit of light on the rumoured sequel to his earlier hit "Dude, Where's My Car?". According to the stars of the film, Ashton Kutcher and Sean William Scott, the proposed sequel was merely an internet rumour. Leiner says otherwise, saying that it was actually going to happen at one stage. "..we were considering it - if only because the original was such a big success. But what happened was Sean William Scott and Ashton Kutcher got kinda famous after the first film, so their prices went way up – it would be just too expensive to make now".
