John Wooed for He-Man movie

Now this is interesting. Remember those rumours a year or so back that indicated John Woo might be interested in doing a "Masters of the Universe" movie? Well seems there was something to those whispers - with Variety confirming today that the Director has signed to direct such a film.

Adam Rifkin will adapt the screenplay for the Fox2000 film - based on the cartoon series and action figures - the second time He-Man and friends have rode onto the big screen. The first time was in 1987 as a lacklustre Dolph Lundgren vehicle.

No word yet on who'll play He-Man, but you can imagine they've already got The Rock's name atop of that wish-list.
