Ok. Good News. Paul W.S Anderson won't be making "Alien vs.Predator 2".
The Bad News? There's going to be an "Alien vs.Predator 2", regardless of how many magic mushrooms we drop into the coffee machine at TCF.
Anderson told Empire Online that he's said goodbye to films that feature both Aliens and Predators. "I'm not attached to any sequel. I never really made the movie with the intention of making a sequel. I wanted to do it as a stand-alone film that could hopefully succeed in its own terms, but also re-energise both franchises. So that Fox could go: 'Well, that made a lot of money! If you want to see Predators and Aliens again let's make a Predator 3, let's make an Alien 5.'"
Funnily enough, Anderson's been linked to the next "Alien" movie. Obviously it's something he's flying the flag for / pitched himself. Can obviously expect to hear something on that pretty soon.
No movements on "Predator 3", just yet. Screenwriter Sam Park ["The Half-Way House"] has penned a story for a third film, involving Schwarzenegger's character from the first film, but at this stage, it hasn't passed hands from writer to studio.
And "Alien vs Predator 2"? You can almost bet on it. Fox are mulling over which way to go with that baby right now. The brain must be aching. Hey, I've an idea, and it shouldn't be too hard to muster : Throw 'Ash' from "Evil Dead" into the mix!
