TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING INTRODUCES

June 1, 2004 (Nashville, TN) – Total Nonstop Action Wrestling announced today that they will begin using a six-sided ring on their Fox Sports Net show “Impact!” making TNA the first United States based promotion to use a six-sided wrestling ring for national television.

The New Shape of Wrestling will debut this Friday on Total Nonstop Action Wrestling “Impact!,” a one hour show on Fox Sports Net airing 3:00 p.m. local time. (check local listings)

“The six-sided ring brings professional wrestling into the 21st century,” said Jeff Jarrett, two-time NWA Heavyweight Champion. ”Wrestling like any other sport must evolve through time and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s continued innovation is an example of that. Our athletes will now have more angles, moves, and space to showcase themselves and TNA Wrestling as ‘The New Wrestling Alternative.’”

The six-sided wrestling ring is one of many innovations TNA Wrestling has introduced into the industry the past two years. The X-Division and Ultimate X match have taken high-flying athletic wrestling to a level never seen before in the sport. The America’s X Cup and World X Cup have brought International competition to the forefront of professional wrestling. This week on TNA’s pay-per-view the “King of the Mountain” ladder match will be the first of its kind.
