Three new actors have been cast as show regulars for 24's upcoming fifth season, Variety reports today.

Spin City star Connie Britton will play Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer's) new love interest while Brady Corbet, the teen actor from Mysterious Skin, will appear as the son of Britton's character.

Meanwhile, Jean Smart will play the wife of Charles Logan (Gregory Itzen), who has newly been elected as the official President.

Returning regulars include James Morrison as Bill Buchanan, Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe O'Brian, Roger Cross as Curtis Manning and Carlos Bernard as Tony Almeida.

The plot details for the new season - which will premiere January 2006 as another two-night, four-hour opener - are being kept under tight wraps although said premiere is expected to feature a huge bomb blast which will kill off several key characters.
