JayC has returned from the MCI Center in Washington D.C. where the
WWE held their press conference for their upcoming pay-per-view,
SummerSlam. Here are some of the highlights from the conference:
In attendence was Vince McMahon, Eric Bishoff, Teddy Long, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, Batista, JBL, Cena, HBK and Hulk Hogan.
Each wrestler gave his little speal about how he was gonna win his match, basically same stuff we hear on RAW and Smackdown.
Some highlights were HBK telling Vince that if he ever makes him be a curtain jerker for something like this by calling him out first istead of last he was gonna kick Vince's butt. Vince didnt really do anything. HBK after talking then left, he didnt sit down at the table with the others.
Orton got booed pretty loudly when he talked but had some pretty funny expressions on his face while others where talking.
Cena was cool he came out and stated giving Eric a hard time. later when they were doing a Q&A with the people there, it was open to the public, and older lady asked if she could have the hat Cena was wearing to give to her grandkid or something. Cena said it was a 1 of a kind prototype hat being designed for his rap group, and that sure she could have it. He then took it over to her and gave it to her.
Batista was the hometown hero and had a good reaction from the crowd. Said how amazed he was like 5 yrs ago he was a bouncer at a place just 5 blocks down the road and now he was the WWE Champion, defending it at Summerslam here in DC. Also during the Q&A someone asked Vince when Brock Lesner would be returning to the WWE. He said he didnt know if he would, he then said the NFL season was about to start and you prob wouldn't see him there either. Then Batista grabbed the mike and said that he would love to face Brock in a PPV match and if he got his act together and came back he would take him on anytime and that it would be one hell of a match.
Hogan came out and started talking about beating HBK and stuff, then Angle was cut him off and said he wasn't gonna beat HBK and it was easy to talk smack about someone not here, then HBK comes back out and they start looking at each other, then Angle stands up and I guess tripped on something cause he falls into the backdrop on the stage and knocks the whole thing over. Everyone started laughing but it kinda ruined the whole climatic clash between the two. Cena got up and was like tring to shake Angles hand for screwing things up. Then they tried to play it off and continue on.
In the Q&A someone asked Vince when Wrestlemania would come to D.C.? Vince said when JBL is elected President. JBL then said that would be in 2008. Batista was like I would endorse that.
I got to ask Hogan if we would ever see the belt around his waist again. He said that would be a dream come true for him.
Hogan came out to the crowd afterwards and was signing autographs.
