FX has renewed its Emmy-nominated drama "Rescue Me" for a third season, less than a month before the series wraps its sophomore run.
The news comes as little surprise as "Rescue Me's" current season has averaged a solid 2.7 million viewers (1.7 million among adults 18-49), on par with its inaugural numbers from 2004.
13 new episodes are on track for a second quarter 2006 bow. Denis Leary, Peter Tolan and Jim Serpico are the executive producers of the series, a co-production of Apostle, DreamWorks Television and the Cloudland Co. in association with Sony Pictures Television.
