TheFutonCritic.com attended FOX's session at the TCA Winter Press Tour and Fox President Peter Ligouri answered a lot of questions in regards to the shows that Fox has cancelled and are currently showing.
THE O.C.
QUESTION: Back to your left. I wanted to see if there's a future for "The O.C." after everyone graduates?
PETER LIGUORI: We think so. That is a show about characters, not about high school. We think it has a great life to it. Josh continues to amaze and surprise. He has some amazing storylines up his sleeve for this season finale.
QUESTION: Is it still doing well for you?
PETER LIGUORI: It's helped us launch a Thursday night. That is, needless to say, an incredibly competitive time period, very difficult to take a foothold. The show has done that. We think with "That '70s Show" as a lead-in to it, we can help it out even further. And we're behind the show.
PRISON BREAK
QUESTION: Mr. Liguori, right here to your left. When last we left "Prison Break," it looked like they might actually get out or, if not, immediately certainly within a few episodes. Have you seen or read enough to be confident that that show can keep up its energy once they actually do get out of prison? I mean, it fundamentally changes the nature of that show once they go on the land, as it were?
PETER LIGUORI: First and foremost, when you have a show that is that creatively ambitious and that creatively dangerous, you don't have confidence in anything (laughs). You just go along for the ride. With all that being said, I think that show has really captured an audience's imagination. They love the thrill ride of each and every episode. And when and if the prison break does happen, I feel that there's a strong enough investment in the two lead characters that the audience is going to go along for the ride.
