With the original Star Wars trilogy heading to DVD, it's no surprise that there would be some Star Wars related announcements at the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend.
In a 2 hour presentation, Steve Sansweet, Head of Fan Relations for Lucasfilm, announced that the popular Star Wars: Clone Wars will be released in spring, around the same time the final batch of shorts will air. The first 20 chapters by Genndy Tartakovsky and Paul Rudish are extremely popular, so the DVD should do well.
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment would bring the animated Ewoks to DVD later this year. The series ran for 2 seasons, for a total of 35 episodes. It's not known if the show would be packaged as one set, or sold as seasons.
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment would bring the animated Droids Adventures to DVD later this year. The series, which premiered in 1985, only ran for 15 episodes.
