"Fahrenheit 9/11" Announced For DVD Release!

Columbia Tristar announced that it will release the controversial political documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" to DVD on October 5th. This release is just one month before the US presidential elections - whether to help influence a wider audience or just to cash in on the hype of the politcally motivated film is hard to say. What is clear though, is that this film has performed unexpectedly well in the theaters and is sure to be a success on DVD.

A clever play on the title of Ray Bradbury's 1951 Science Fiction classic Fahrenheit 451 (about a 24th century fireman whose job it is to burn books), this documentary on the post September 11th manipulation of the american public also addresses some of the same themes - political control, censorship, and fear mongering.

Whether you agree with Michael Moore's views or not, if you're interested in US politics and the aftermath of the September 11th attacks, this DVD is a must see - especially considering the added material.

The special features are to include:

* An extended Michael Moore interview with Abdul Henderson, Lila Lipscomb at the Washington D.C. Premiere
* New scenes
* Featurette: The Release of "Fahrenheit 9/11"
* Featurette: The People of Iraq on the Eve of Invasion
* Featurette and an Eyewitness account from Samara, Iraq.
* Featurette on some Arab-American Comedians and their acts and experiences after 9/11, Condoleeza Rice's 9/11 Commission Testimony and a Rose Garden press briefing after the 9/11 commission appearance.
