Topics Entertainment of Renton, Washington is preparing to release The Amazing Spider-Man Fortieth Anniversary Collection in October. The 10 CD-Rom set contains 501 full color comic books with all the covers, stories, letters pages, posters and Stan Lee's Soapboxes included. The set includes Spidey's first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15, plus issues 1-500 of the Amazing Spider-Man. The images on the CD-Roms were scanned from copies in the private collection of Marvel editor Ralph Macchio.

The CD-Rom set, which has a retail price of $49.99, will be out at least a month before the release of the Spider-Man 2 DVD on November 30. Sony is mounting a massive ad campaign for DVD, and Topics is hoping that retailers will be able to take advantage of Spidey's ubiquity during November to promote sales of the Fortieth Anniversary Collection CD-Rom Set.
