This week's TNI Cool Custom is of 3.75" Contra - Mad Dog and Scorpion figures. These customs were done by

" wanted to focus on video game characters this week and that led me rather quickly to Contra. Everyone remembers playing this game at some point in the 90s. And everyone remembers loving the spread gun. lol So, I couldn't resist giving them a shot. However, there was no solid lead on what design to use. I knew I wanted something more similar to their original looks, but there were no images anywhere to help me. So, I turned to designs made by other customizers and with a lot of inspiration coming from 6" renditions of these guys, I was able to pull this simple, yet effective, design off.
The execution was actually rather simple. Full repaint of the figures, then adding some lighter shades and a little black to their pants to give the camo look. Duke and Spirit were the perfect head choices, and even requiring little to no modification to fit. I thought I was going to have some problems finding befitting blasters for them, but I stumbled across these, and ended up having two, so I went with that. No clue where they came from, though.
