The best there is, best there, was, best that there EVER will be!
Mattel is here with the
Ultimate Edition Bret Hitman Hart figure. This is gorgeous! Having owned almost ever Hitman figure over the years since the 80's this takes the cake for most detailed and highly articulated figure that has been released.
The Hasbro Hitman is fantastic for sentimental reasons. The LJN is great for his time in the Hart Foundation, but those releases left something to be desired. In my opinion, this checks all the boxes. Upon holding the box in hand, this feels like a premium figure. The entire unboxing is an experience. The red accents with special messaging on the inner flap of the box is a very nice touch!
This is aimed at the adult collector with a price tag of about $30. This is well worth the money, as you get tons of extras that you don't get with a regular elite figure. This figure is in scale with other WWE basics and elite figures, only with more points of articulation.
You get three heads. One with a closed mouth smirk. Another with the mid match open mouth scan. And the third being a serious scowl. The head swap is super simple as they just pop off with no effort needed. You also get three sets of hands that are very easy to change out. You get many combinations that you can do with one figure. Besides that you also get Hitman with his trademark black ring jacket!
The articulation is nice with the standard head, arms, elbows, waist, legs, knees, boots, ankles and wrists. For a bonus you also have shoulders with sweet butterfly joints. This allows for cool and interesting poses that were not possible before. The tips of the boots bend for cooler poses and you get a side to side movement in the torso area.
If I had to nitpick anything, it would be not having the shades be all pink, or having the decal be pink and not the silver shades that were included. Another area of improvement would be to include at least one head that didn't have the hair in his face.
The colors on this figure are true to how he wore them in the 90's and are very vibrant. The paint splatter on his singlet is done very accurately. I really dig the skulls on the side of his tights, as something so small doesn't normally include so much detail.
I would rate this figure release a 9.5/10 My only nitpicks would be the previously mentioned hair sculpt on all the heads, and the color of his shades.
Even with those minor flaws, you should still really consider picking this up for your collection. Big thank to Mattel for sending this figure for review. WWE figures are available for purchase at out sponsor
