New Star Trek The Original Series Communicator From Playmates Toys

This is the first generation of subspace communication devices. The Communicator’s compact and lightweight design along with its powerful range of 1200 kilometers made this communication device standard issue to all officers in Starfleet. This classic model was used for ground-to-orbit and global audio contact. Once aboard a Starship, the main computer handled all intraship communications. Though this communicator was obsolete by 24th century standards, its simple design allowed for easy field maintenance and modifications. Of particular note are the manual dials which controlled emergency signals and frequency response of the communicator. These manual overrides were later replaced by an internal sub-matrix processor.

I would just about sell my soul for Hasbro to get the license and make a Black Series-like 6" line of figures from all eras.

Honestly, of the big players, i feel they are the worst with announcements and such.

How about some more figures?, although I'd rather see someone else get the liscence.

Seeing how Playmates has absolutely no interest in listening to customers comments and concerns regarding their Star Trek products, I really hope someone else gets the license too. Hiya is really making a good impression with each new reveal. Those might be a little price prohibitive for retail but I definitely want to see them tackle the broader roster of characters. If Playmates ultimately throws in the towel I would not mind seeing Jazzwares do a 4 inch line similar to Fortnite and a line of ships similar to Micro Galaxy Squadron.

My daughter loves the TOS communicator. Glad they are releasing a new one

And here I thought no one could phone-in a Star Trek license quite like Diamond Select, but Playmates appears to be giving it a shot!

just curious is the figure side of this line dead ? I've seen nothing past those wave 1 figures

I've sorta been wondering the same thing. Playmates seems to be missing the mark on a lot of stuff lately.
