Has Playmates ever done a good collector-focused line? I think a mass market Turtles-esque line is really the best anyone could hope for with them taking the helm.Shame - was really hoping to have something that would be semi-compatible with Lightning Collection.
Judging by the weapons proportions this is definitely not a collectors line

It'll be interesting to see what they have to offer (I'm assuming we'll see something at Toy Fair). As a semi-casual fan of the Lightning Collection (and not a huge Power Ranger fan in the first place - I just thought those toys were cool and I was able to pick up a heap of them relatively cheap), I'm not going to be looking at anything that's not approximately comparable with that series or fills gaps in that. As such, I fully expect there to be absolutely nothing of interest to me in their offerings (they'll have to do a vintage TMNT-style Rangers line, right?), but fingers crossed more modern style figure collectors are pleasantly surprised.

Well true, there are those collectors, and there are always new collectors looking to get into the game, I guess in reality it never hurts to give the people more, for both of those reasons.

I'm sure Playmates will do fine for toys aimed at the "Kid Market", even more so if they have them at around the 5" scale, or that sort of "Smaller" 6 Inch Scale. Would be interesting if Playmates does a more 6" Scale line aimed at Collectors, but we'll have to see what they do.
1 of the things that was really cool about most of the Hasbro 6" Lighting Collection figures of the Rangers, is that most of the time, the Ranger figures also came with a Unmorphed Head, so that you could have options of when the Rangers remove their helment and what not.

This will be another interesting step in the world of toy making. Hasbro is still outsourcing it's brands, but sometimes it goes in a very good way. Soon we'll find out.
