^ Im right there with you on that... Even if the majority of them didnt seem to be in the designer block, as Jay C mentioned above.
Hopefully the most talented end up at other Toy companies and that leads to a better final product for all of us.
This is very bad news to hear.

the world is harsh.
I feel bad for the people who lost their jobs.
I wonder what % Jurassic World products went up by?
Good thing I don't work at Mattel. I so sorry for those 2,200people.
Hope these 2,200 people don't end up at Mc D's or the Kids Fatning Centre. What a Hell hole in those places.
This is very sad, but these are the basic rules of the market: Supply and demand. If they are assuming that the sales will drop and demand for product will considerably fall, there is no reason to keep a big working force and keep the cost of production high. If things change and the demand gets high again, they will probably hire more people.
I hope these people find new opportunities somewhere.

Mattel was just starting to take steps to better their communications and promotion of these products which had been severely lacking in recent years and I fear any recent improvements in that regards that had been made will be nullified by this. Either way though it sucks to hear about people loosing their jobs regardless of their roles.
Agreed.
