WWE Retrofest Honky Tonk Man Figure Review & Images

He is the Honky Tonk Man ... he's cool, cocky and bad! One of the longest reigning Intercontinental Champions during the Hogan era. Mattel has finally immortalized Honky Tonk Man into the Retrofest line.

The Retrofest series is a fun collector driven series that pay homage to WWE (WWF) retro arcade game. Huge thanks to Mattel for sending this figure my way to review.

The packaging is absolutely one of, if not the best, packages you can possibly pick up as a collector. It looks like you could actually play the arcade game. Every bit of the cabinet is so detailed and would look good on anyone's shelf.

Taking the figure out of the package, he comes packed with a guitar, which feels a bit small for the figure and he can only hold it with his open left hand.

Honky Tonk Man is an Elite figure and sports all the articulation that the Elite series offers. Head, shoulders, elbows, wrist, waist, hips, knees, and ankles.

Honky Tonk Man comes with a fabric jumpsuit and my "gawd" does it stand out. The homage to Elvis is crazy on this thing. From all the music notes on the legs and sleeves to the full cartoon image on the front of the outfit is such an eye sore that it's just too perfect.

On the back, there is this great image of Honky Tonk overlooking himself inside a pink Cadillac with Suzie.

His face sculpt looks more like Honky Tonk Man now than he did in the late 80s or early 90s, but it still works.

The jumpsuit can be removed, but what would be the point of that? The Retrofest Honky Tonk Man is ready to shake, rattle, and roll into your collection and if you are a gamer and don't own these figures, stop reading and go pick these figures up ASAP.

Now, in all transparency, I am not, nor have I ever, been a fan of Honky Tonk Man, but the figure is significant to own if you are a fan of vintage WWF wrestling or a fan of wrestling games.

I give the Retrofest Honky Tonk Man a solid 4 out of 5. The minor issues like a small guitar and a more modern face sculpt shouldn't deter any wrestling fan who needs to have Honky in their toy collection.

Sweet review! This figure I believe is superior to the original release. The scan is a lot more detailed, the jumpsuit is fresh. The first release was amazing as well! I can't wait to pick up the new figure now especially after seeing these cool pics of it! (Even though it is a little on the pricey side)?

Great review!

Mine was delivered last week. A major improvement over my Basic HTM. I like this head sculpt a lot more than the previous one.

Definitely a shot right to the nostalgia, with this guy... The minor issues you mentioned not withstanding, Im much more impressed by this figure than I probably wouldve assumed Id be. Not too shabby.

I found this figure a couple weeks ago, I love the details put into it. The cloth jump suit and designs are a nice addition. I agree with this review ? percent.
