2024 NYCC Hasbro Ghostbusters Plasma Series Haslab Ecto-1 Detailed Look And Info

Shown below is a detailed look with images and video for the new Hasbro Ghostbusters Plasma Series Haslab Ecto-1 1/12 scale vehicle from Hasbro. The campaign which launched a few days ago during NYCC has 43 days left and currently has 4749 Backers of the minimum 12k needed to move into production.

There are two options you can choose to back, the basic version which costs $324.99 and allows you to display the Ecto-1 as it appeared in the original movie. This option also will include a Plasma Series Slimmer and Ghost Librarian figure.

The second option is the deluxe one. This one costs $399.99 and includes everything with the basic option along with parts to switch out so the Ecto-1 can look like it did in Ghostbusters II. You also get the 4 original Ghostbusters figures in their Ghostbusters II outfits.

The vehicle has lights and sounds. Things to note that I learned at NYCC is that they plan to include a USB port on the vehicle so you can essentially plug it in so the lights can stay on all the time while displayed on your shelf. The vehicle is battery powered but again they do plan on including a USB port as well. The decals which are not stickers are said to be reusable, so you can switch back and fourth between the look of the Ecto-1 from the first movie and the second one.

The Louis Tully figure is being offered as an early bird figure. This means in order for it to be included, the campaign must reach the minimum 12k backers by November 1st. If the campaign is funded during that 2 week period, then everyone who backs the Ecto-1 will get Louis regardless of when they backed it. If the campaign is not funded in the 2 week period, then according to Hasbro no one will get Louis.

I really liked this, but at the end of the day it was either get this or put (unquestionably needed) new tires on my actual car, and real-life wins out once again.

Man, I really wanted this and was planning on backing it but broke as a joke right now. I'll just have to pay a couple extra hundo on the secondary market... Hopefully BBTS gets em.

Glad it made it! I held off spending money on Black Friday for this. I could see it get to 14. I still say best haslab yet.

For those that can afford it I'm hlad it reached the goal. It really is impressive

Ecto-1 reached it's goal a little while ago. Currently at 12,135, and it still has a little over 52 hours to go before it ends. Anybody care to guess how high this will go?

Yeah I'm actually surprised this isn't fully funded/backed yet, I thought it was a sure fire hit, most people in the toy community I've heard from seemed to rave about it, and claimed it was a awesome offering, yet it seems to be lagging, I'm sure it will get funded in the end but shocked it's not yet.

Funniest takeaway from it all is the fact that they have abandoned the Plasma line, but yet they give us this? it's pretty sad they just stopped producing plasma figures, because they could have done a wave or 2 from the recent movie, yet nope.

Emily Bader said they've talked about restarting Plasma series (and are at least planning to rerelease the Ghostbusters in their '84 looks, likely with updated deco) if this funds, which seems very certain with less than 1800 to go and the last 48-24 hour surge yet to hit.

I think the timing is the problem with this haslab. I don't recall a haslab ever going thru November to December. Most people are spending or saving for the holidays right now. I still think it will make it but barely.

If I'm not mistaken, this was delayed by a month. I think late fall has been typical of the cosplay Haslabs, so I'm not sure that is the issue.
