Billionaire
Elon Musk this week made a simple post on his
social media platform X asking the following:
"How Much Is Hasbro"
This actually caused Hasbro stocks to climb on Friday, even though Musk actually didn't make any real indication he was interested in buying the company.
So why is the wealthiest man in the world talking about Hasbro at all? Is he really interested in getting into the toy making business? Likely not, but this all started when Musk started talking about plans on
X to start his own artificial intelligence video game studio.
Then the conversation turned to
Dungeons And Dragons which is owned by
Hasbro.
If Musk really wanted to know how much it would cost to buy
Hasbro, I doubt asking random people on X is where he would go for that sort of information, but it certainly generates headlines. I very much doubt Musk has any real interest in buying Hasbro and even less interest in making toys. At most if he really moved forward on launching a new video game studio, I could see him perhaps looking to buy the D&D license from Hasbro, but even that I think would be stretch. I guess time will tell though.
