I am sorry to report more bad news when it comes to price increases from various action figure companies due to Tariffs. First an update on the
Hasbro front. The other day we told you how
Hasbro had placed text on their Pulse website that said the following:
Lock-in pre-order pricing today. Current pre-orders end May 9th at 12:01 EDT
Today we saw our sponsor
BigBadToyStore.com put up the same disclaimer on Hasbro products.
I have been doing some checking and it seems
Hasbro almost definitely will be raising their U.S.MSRP prices to include tariff costs on action figures in the near future. From what I am hearing, Hasbro has told retailers that they will honor current MSRP prices on any orders placed by the end of May 9th.
This means any pre-order placed after May 9th could be subject to price increases. While
BBTS and
Pulse are the only retailers to mention the May 9th, I assume this will effect all retailers that carry Hasbro products. If you have any questions about this then I suggest contacting the retailer you deal with directly and ask them for clarification.
No word yet on how much prices will go up but I suspect we will be learning that information very soon.
Mondo and
Funko (Should be noted Funko owns Mondo) have also announced price increases coming due to tariffs.
Mondo today sent out an email stating the following:
We’re reaching out with an important update about how ongoing international tariffs are impacting Mondo’s products moving forward.
As always, our goal is to continue delivering the highest quality collectibles, records, and posters—and we’re doing everything we can to ensure that continues, even in the face of evolving global trade policies.
Starting May 6, 2025, select pre-order collectible products for U.S. customers will include a tariff surcharge fee, which will vary by item and will be visible in your cart before checkout.
A few key things to know:
These surcharges will not apply to in-stock items currently in our warehouse.
No retroactive charges will be added to previously completed orders.
Orders placed before May 6, including pre-orders, will not be impacted.
We didn’t make this decision lightly—but it’s necessary to help us navigate rising costs while continuing to invest in the products and experiences you expect from Mondo. Thank you for your passion and support.
Funko released this statement:
So, why the price update?
We’ve done everything we can to hold the line. Because the Funko community is our priority, we’re opting to absorb a big part of the increase behind the scenes. But, to keep doing what we do best—delivering high-quality, display-worthy, collector-loved products—we need to make an adjustment.
So, along with these changes comes some good news. We’re committed to delivering the following upgrades coming to your shelf soon:
💥 Better sculpts and more detailed figures (yes, your shelf deserves that glow-up)
📦 Premium packaging printed directly onto the box (less clutter, more stunner)
🔒 Expanded Octane5 stickers to track and authenticate rare finds (ooooh, all those pretty colors)
🎯 Limited Edition collectibles that are actually limited (check out the calendar for drops)
This isn't about pricing for the sake of pricing. It's about making sure we can keep giving you the best collecting experience possible, without cutting corners or dialing back the magic. And we’re doing everything possible to avoid higher increases than what production actually requires—whether it's exclusives or your everyday shelf heroes.
We believe collecting should still feel like a treat, not a luxury. And you shouldn’t need a space rocket (or a side hustle) to get your hands on a great POP!
Thanks for sticking with us. You’re the reason the Funko community exists.
Yesterday we told you how
Mattel has announced price increases "where necessary" on it's US products.
