Originally produced by Mattel and released in 1976, the reimagining of the toy involves improving the playset and also being sure to retain some of the vintage charm of the original design.
The playsets measures 36 inches long, while the ship's surface details and markings have been improved. The command module and passenger module details have been improved with new decal graphics and added accessory pieces, including a second weapons rack and additional weapons with improved detailing.The two included pilot figures measure nearly 4 inches tall and feature improved articulation using the classic o-ring design. They also include improved detailing on their helmets, gear and space suits.The ship's landing gear is designed to be more screen accurate, including the addition of the smaller landing gear pads on the underside of the passenger module.
