Family Guy Series 1 Interactive Figures & Playset From Playmates Toys

Playmates Toys will be launching their new line of figures and playsets next month based on the hit Fox animated series “Family Guy”. The interactive figures will say a number of phrases from the cartoon when you plug them into specific spots on the interactive playsets. The first wave due out on toy shelves by August 1st contains six single-packaged figures (Brian, Cleveland, Peter, Quagmir, Stewie In Halloween Costume and Stewie) and one "Living Room" playset that comes with a Lois figure.

If you ever collected Playmates Simpsons figures and playsets from a few years back, then you will be very familiar with the quality and design of the Family Guy figures. They are virtually the same toy line. The figures are made from pretty sturdy plastic and have limited articulation. Each figure also comes with a few accessories based from the show. The playsets essentially are electronic bases with a plastic backdrop, and they come with a few accessories of their own. In the case of the living room playset, it comes with a television and TV stand.

The packaging is very similar to that used for the Simpsons line. The figures come on basic blister cards which are a little smaller than the Simpsons figures and the playsets come in nice window-type packaging that allows you to see the set from all angles. Great for display purposes if you like to keep your toys in the packaging.

The figures are also in pretty good scale with the Simpsons figures so you can display both lines on the playsets, although the electronic features on the Family Guy playsets won’t work with your Simpson’s figures and vice-versa.

These Family Guy toys don’t really break any new ground from what Playmates accomplished with their Simpsons’ line, but they are durable and look very true to their animated counterparts. If you are a fan of the show or were a fan of the Simpsons products, then you will definitely want to check these out when they are released next month.
