The folks at Fwoosh sat down with Super7's Brian Flynn where he where he talked about various products including Ultimates ThunderCats and TMNT figures.

Highlights from the interview include the following:

ThunderCats have been planned out so far through wave 7 with 4 waves coming 2021.

Brian stated the primary source material used for these figures is the classic cartoon and not the vintage toy line.

Wave 2 are the last figures being made at the original factory Mattel used for the line. Starting with Wave 3 they have gone back to their own factories for ThunderCats.

The wave 2 figures because of the Mattel factory, is likely going to see their release delayed until after the Chinese New Year, which takes place in February. Wave 3 however should see release a month later followed by wave 4 a month after that. Due to the delay of wave 2, there is a possibility they will do something special as an apology for the delay.

Wave 5 won't be revealed until wave 2 ships.

The 1st wave of TMNT Ultimates figures will almost definitely be re-issued with minor alterations, so folks who missed out on the initial release can still get them at a reasonable cost. The minor alteration will likely be something like a slight variation to the weapons rack colors.

Wave 2 should ship out from the factory in October/November. Wave 3 will ship out from the factory after the Chinese New Year in March.

The April O'Neil headsculpt has been drastically changed since the images we saw. It will have a much more cartoon feel to it. There will also be an alternate head with headphones on.

They will be incorporating variant Turtles in the line.

Wave 4 will be revealed and go up for pre-order in October.

A Ultimates Usagi Yojimbo figure will be coming in 2021.

Like ThunderCats, they have already planned out TMNT through wave 7.

For their Disney Ultimates line they are looking to do straight up plain Disney characters right now like a standard Mickey Mouse. They are looking to do more off the beaten path characters. By the time they get to wave 6 and 7 Brian feels like you will be able to see a pattern of what they are trying to accomplish with the line. Robin Hood will be in wave 2 which will be shown in January. They have 4 waves planned for 2021.

They look reallly good, this line really shows that super7 isn't just copycat producer of mattel's MOTU. It's really nice touch they gave Casey Jones broken Bats, that will be really cool accessory not just for him but in general.

I guess you're right about that. Although in past interviews where Flynn've had the chance to showcase new product or to talk about products coming in the future or in developing, only Thundercats and TMNT are mentioned and the only other Conan figure that will be being released next year is the Iconic Movie Pose Conan, only a single figure not a full wave, hence my doubts.

I pre ordered that one because that's the want I want... They probably are holding more news on the Conan line until they ship the first set of figures... I know there are trying to use that strategy for the other lines...

Then I guess the Conan line is dead.

I don't think Conan is dead, this was not supposed to be an update on Conan...

April O' Neill played by both of those women in TMNT 1 and 2 are cute as hell- this fig shouldn't be so ugly as it is LOL. Glad they caught this error.

Wave 4, huh? Has the first been released yet?

Price point is hard no for me, but super7 turtles are by far my favorite version of TMNT I've seen. Their heads capture comic book look that wasn't really seen in Neca and Playmates figures (They both did initial comic book look tho), I really dislike single joints butsculpt are really nailing it, at least from my point of view. Maybe they will make TMNT 4 pack down the line with more adequate price point.

Not bad... I still want to see the new Bebop head (Repainted) for the figure from the second wave...

On the original toy, of course. That's the difference between the Super7 line and the Neca line.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification! The original is still one of my faves.
