M.A.S.K. Mobile Defense Unit Black And Gold 40th Anniversary Variant

I never had them as a kid (only a second-hand Thunderhawk). I recently got the (Loyal Subject) Thunderhawk and Condor. Still saving money for Switchblade. G.I. Joe ReAction+ figures get in the way! ? I'm not listening to what others say, I'm in for M.A.S.K. Wave 2. Excited about it ?

It's been such a weird take on the MASK line in the first place - essentially vintage repros but with enough updates and alterations so as to make vintage collectors unhappy but not enough changes to make first time collectors interested and price tags that keep anyone but already hardcore fans out of the market in the first place.

Will be interesting to see who bothers to pre order these. No way in hell after Wave 1 for me.

I'm kind of surprised this line is continuing given all the uproar over Wave 1 (prices, quality, etc.). I have little to no hope though that they will make Vanessa Warfield.

Just got wave 1 of MASK today. I haven't had a chance to open and inspect for QC issues, but will report back later.

My first observation is that the packaging feels really cheap with very thin cardboard. Also, the tape on the Rhino box was poorly applied so looked like someone already tried to open it. This normally wouldn't be a big deal and I'd probably overlook it, but just another negative to add to the list.

Yeah, as I was reading I was with them and then got to that bit and was just "Ooo... wrong turn, bud." I love M.A.S.K. but haven't picked any of these up yet, (emphasis on the yet) so I can't speak to anything firsthand about the product, but that part in particular didn't come off great. If you're going to pull off a "Don't worry so much/Fix it yourself," you've got to be a little more deft about it then that.
