Konami today announced a new partnership between Yu-Gi-Oh! and Mondo, the Austin, Texas-based producer of pop-culture posters and collectibles. Their collaboration kicks off with a launch party that will be held at the Funko Hollywood retail store on February 21.
All fans attending the one-night pop-up event, titled “Duelist Dreams,” will receive an exclusive Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon screen printed poster by Mondo. The poster has an edition size of 285 and measures a whopping 24- by 35-inches. Additionally, fans will receive a swag bag that includes a Yu-Gi-Oh! Funko Pop! figure, pin, Duel Links token chip, and Master Duel sleeves.
The event will also have special guests, art/screen printing demos, drawings for other Yu-Gi-Oh! merch, and an opportunity to play the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection video game ahead of its street date. There will be drinks, appetizers, reveals of upcoming Mondo Yu-Gi-Oh! products — like the $155 Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon soft vinyl figure — and other activities for duelists of all ages.
Furthermore, attendees will be the first to get to purchase three more Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG screen prints by Mondo — Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Dark Magician, and Red-Eyes Black Dragon. These screen prints measure 16- by 24-inches and cost $60 each. The event will have 75 of each for sale.
Duelist Dreams will be held on February 21 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Hollywood Funko at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. Tickets are available now for $80. Please note that the BEUD screen print must be picked up in person. Mondo will not ship it.
Konami has also provided a list (at the bottom of the Duelist Dreams page) of Official Tournament Stores in and around the Los Angeles metropolitan area that will hold a special tournament to award a BEUD screen print and entry ticket to the event. Contact the respective OTS for further details.
Mondo will sell the small screen prints and the BEUD figure online as timed editions at a later date.
