I'm still not interested in this, I'm sure this will do well as I'm already hearing Oscar Buzz surrounding the movie and at least one reviewer giving it 10 out of 10. Personally, after Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto and now Joaquin Phoenix I'm played out on live action Jokers give other characters a chance. I'm with Satam on this one, I believe they wanted to do their version of Falling Down or Taxi Driver but someone in the studio thought that if they attached the Joker name to it would generate more interest.
I watched the trailer, and this is why people are afraid of Clowns.
Three new movie posters were released...

True, and hopefully he's able to pull a cohesive film together without too much of WB's legendary meddling, but I'm still questioning the concept to begin with.
I'm not a "can't wait" on this one, more a "huh...we'll see."

I see a guy slowly loosing his sanity and seems to have an affection for clowns but thats not the Joker I know. I also feel one of the most appealing things about a character like the Joker is his mystery. We should never know the Joker's real name or see him as just a normal guy who lost his way. I just think that ruins the appeal of the character when you really start pealing the layers away.
I think it's actually kind of obvious at this point that Todd Phillips wanted to do Falling Down with a comedian and the studio didn't want it until he changed the guy to the Joker.
Of course I agree this isnt the Joker we know, its been already donewell enough in Dark Knight. I look at this movie as cinematic elseworld story which works just fine and from the looks of it its gonna be really fun movie that is something in between of serious cinema and superhero flick, even more than spectacular Logan movie.
