Deadline has confirmed that Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind have joined the cast of the live-action sequel to Sony Pictures’ hit film, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

The sequel will be directed by Gil Kenan with Jason Reitman, who directed the 2021 film, moving into the writer-producer role alongside co-scribe Kenan and Jason Blumenfeld. Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon will be returning with the location now returning to New York City and the iconic firehouse made famous in the original Ghostbusters films. The movie is scheduled for a December 2023 release.
