Dan Trachtenberg, the director who got an Emmy nomination for his 2022 Predator movie Prey, is set to direct the upcoming Predator feature called Badlands.
Unlike Prey, which took place in 1719 and focused on a young Comanche woman fighting against the extraterrestrial hunters, Badlands will bring a completely new storyline. Although specific plot details are being kept secret, we do know that Badlands will be set in the future and will also have a female lead, just like Prey.
Trachtenberg teamed up with Patrick Aison to develop the story for Badlands, with Aison taking charge of writing the screenplay. After a considerable amount of time in development, the project is now ready to begin production in July.
But Badlands is not the only Predator project in the works. The success of Prey, which received praise from both critics and audiences, has revitalized the franchise. As a result, the studio has big plans for multiple Predator projects, with Trachtenberg playing a central role.
