Max has released a new teaser for THE PENGUIN, from Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, debuting this fall. Starring Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb (aka "The Penguin"), the eight-episode DC Studios drama series continues The Batman epic crime saga that filmmaker Matt Reeves began with Warner Bros. Pictures' global blockbuster "The Batman," and centers on the character played by Farrell in the film.

Based on characters created for DC by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, THE PENGUIN is produced by Reeves' 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Reeves and 6th & Idaho are under an overall deal. Daniel Pipski also serves as executive producer.

Very Deniro but it's a fun character.

It's not a movie, it's a series, and they're spending the money because it's been in the works since The Batman made $771 million, and they know people will watch it. Hollywood also seems to believe that the way to stave off "superhero fatigue" is with comic properties and tie ins that don't have a super hero feel. Whether they're right or wrong, this likely qualifies. I doubt Pattinson is going to show up in this wearing a cape and cowl.

I know it's a series. It "seems" Iike a mobster film/has that feel. Looks like it'll be good. The Batman is my favorite batman film but even then considering so much going on to get dc on track I feel like a Penguin series can be a distraction no matter how good it looks. I don't think I'm right...just how I feel personally. I hope I'm wrong but I've seen so much unfocused content more than ever before lately.

Looks good. But it definitely seems like a mobster film to me than a movie about a comic book villian. Plus I'm surprised they're spending money on a penguin movie if it's not part of James Gunns universe or the Phoenix Joker universe. I'm not sure how I feel about having a connected Gunn universe plus multiple stand alone dc films. I feel like it would be too overwhelming. At a time where more people are talking about superhero movie fatigue, things like marvels multiverse and dc multiple stand alone films are definitely ways to cause superhero film fatigue. The probability of sub-brands within a brand crashing into each other becomes much higher causing the audience to fatigue.
