LuckyChap To Develop 'Monopoly' With Lionsgate & Hasbro

Lionsgate revealed during their presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that they have partnered with Hasbro and LuckyChap, the producer of Barbie, to work on bringing Monopoly to the big screen. The film adaptation of the popular board game is currently in the works, with Hasbro Entertainment playing a key role in its production.

Monopoly, the renowned board game brand, has gained immense popularity worldwide and is currently accessible in over 100 countries. Since its inception in 1935, it has successfully sold close to 500 million copies.

This just seems weird to me but I will try to keep an open mind.

I am curious to see how they can turn the board game into a movie. When I think of Monopoly, a feature film about it isnt exactly the first thing that comes to my mind.

Also, if the movie is anything like the game itself, this movie is going to be like 6 hours long lol
