DC Studios Developing Movie Treatments For Bane, Deathstroke

by Outsiders
September 28, 2024
The commercial success of The Joker, coupled with the impending release of its sequel, Joker: Folie À Deux, and the recent launch of the HBO series The Penguin, has paved the way for fresh advancements within the DC cinematic universe. According to sources cited by The Hollywood Reporter, Bane, the formidable antagonist known for his super-steroid injections and previously portrayed in Christopher Nolan's 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises, is being paired with Deathstroke, another prominent villain from the comic book franchise, for an upcoming film.

The project is currently in the hands of DC Studios, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, with a screenplay being crafted by Matthew Orton, who is also involved in the forthcoming Captain America: Brave New World film. At this time, a director has not been attached to the project.

I read the Penguin show is supposed to be after Batman took out the mob leaders from the recent movie

that makes no sense to me if the Penguin is on a crime spree & Batman is clueless then never shows up!

Not to spoil but from what I've seen so far there's no massive attention grabbing crime spree in series for Batman to notice + it's going slow more of character study, big things likely gonna happen in finale of the series.

If fear of making something new is still off the table, then just make enough garbage so the big players can alienate the remaining fanbase too. That's a small favor to ask.

Are they gonna go the anti hero route? I hope not ,stop making villain movies if they can't be true to their characters.

It somehow sounds like male version of that cancelled movie with Black Cat and Silver Sable sony was trying hard to push, I wonder if due to Pattinson's movies we gonna have Batman less Bat Rogues gallery movies in new DCU, at least until the Trilogy is actually finished and they can announce casting without harming existing Bat franchise. Overall I do think that potential is there but track record on Hero less comic book movies is not that great.
