'Scott Pilgrim Takes Off' Canceled By Netflix, EP Confirms

Co-developer and executive producer Bryan Lee O'Malley, the creator of Scott Pilgrim, has informed fans on X that the anime adventure series has been completed and subsequently canceled by Netflix.

It's been one year since Scott Pilgrim Takes Off came out. It was an honor to work with all of the cast & staff around the world. It was like conducting a symphony orchestra every day. From the moment @bdgrabinski sparked the idea, the project felt like a one of a kind miracle.

Anyway, we were recently informed that the show will NOT return. As you know, we only intended one season, and called in a lot of favors to make it happen, so making more would have been nearly impossible. Still, I know some of you have been holding out hope.

It was a pretty fun ride. I tried to show my wife the original movie a few years ago because I'm fond of it but she fell asleep pretty quickly. We watched this when it came out and she enjoyed it enough to give the movie a second shot. She was only so-so on that, though (she can't stand Michael Cera, so the fact that she actually made it all the way through was good enough for me).

Didn't he say back when it came out that it wasn't written with the intention of a second season anyway?

It says so in the post above yours, so yeah.
