They were. They did Street Fighter ones too. They were just reused GI Joe assets made to look like those characters.

Wow I never knew that. I think that really started my love of combining toy lines and franchises.

I actually remember way back in the day having a Scorpion and Raiden that werescaled and designed like all the G.I.Joe figures I had like they were made from the same company or something.

Well thats accurate in overall depiction of the characters. They are all palette swaps afterall. But I mean they are like reused Cobra soldiers/ninjas and have extra detail thats not actually pertinent to the characters they are trying to depict. Just look up MK gi joe and familiarize yourself with mk 1 and mk 2 designs and you ll see there is so odd design choices.

I dont know what youre talking about, man... As Im almost sure I remember Raiden wearing military paraphernalia and a gun holster, in every one of his in-game appearances!?

I do remember that the ninjas I had, which comprised Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Smoke, were all identical figures, just painted their respective associated colors. And that was it, lol.

Well the fact that most didnt even really look like themselves was also a kind of give away. I was never into joes either. I just knew about them and I knew of toy familiarity. The likenesses were so off and knowing how toy companies are with reusing parts to cut costs down, they had to be.

Thats a possibility, I suppose... I never had a crazy amount of Joes to begin with, so even though their sculpts never stood out to me as anything Id personally seen in the line before, Idjust assumed they had to be retoolings, at best.

Whats pretty funny is Im pretty sure both the mk and sf figures were just recolored and re-purposed joe figures. None were actually unique sculpts.

Ive always loved comics and video games. I cant really think which love came first as I was a kid I loved comics and as an artist even then I loved and were inspired by the video games I was playing on the nes. I later stopped getting comics but always had the love of those characters and how they looked at that time. Its like a psychological thing that I dont care to collect or like newer looks or iterations of characters i grew up on. Its kind of amazing how there is that much power in nostalgia? and what you were raised on. My primary is spiderman and xmen which is what i read as comics as a kid as well as their respective cartoons. Sure there are some exceptions but overall its all the stuff i loved as a kid.

With storm, they hit my love for fighting games right in the dick. I might as well pay them for their service. I wonder if capcom will be like hey guys you are all doing such a great job, heres more of our IPs for you all to do. If that comes, I will have to start selling myself out to afford it all. XD

Nostalgia is everything these days, Its pretty cool to see all these properties resurfacing and finally seeing all the stuff we wanted as a kid finally being made. I must have thatpsychologicalthing too cause I don't give a crap about any of the new stuff, in some weird way I just feel like they arent actually good and are just meant to shut up all the hipsters and protesters lol I'm sure theres some good stuff out there too though.

Videogames were actually my passion way before comics and action figures but like you said there werent many game figures out that were cool so I eventually moved on to other things and now I collect a bunch of stuff but I'm with you the stuff that Storm has been making has really hit my inner child and I definitely get more excited for these figures over any other.
