These special edition versions aren't really much special edition and they cost the same amount.

They are both the same figures as before, but Scorpion comes with the following extras:

2 Bloody katanas with scabbardsTranslucent flame stand

Sub-Zero comes with the following extras: Bloody frost axeBloody skull with spineTranslucent ice blue stand

Surprised to see a figure from Storm that is this lean.

Point and Counter Point...

All pretty good ;^)

^Yeah, I follow them since they started making 1:12th scale Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter V figures, it was only last year that I became interested in acquiring their figures for the first time though, the Kengan Ashura and Baki the grappler lines. I think they should move forward with the licenses they already own, make an extensive character selection out of them, before acquiring new licenses, they just can't handle all those licenses, either because they're slow or because they're small, i.e. the Hokuto no Ken license, it appears on their most recent catalog but all we have seen is a prototype that was shown back in 2019 and nothing else. But hey it's just my two cents, I know they take their time making figures, but it's not 'til now that I already put money on them, I'm worried I'll have to wait months or even years before I see another figure from the licenses I care about because Storm acquired a bunch of new licences.

I think there are some kinks in their innerworkings that dont make much sense. Especially in normal capacity that we are used to with most other toy manufacturers. Because some stuff that theyve shown over the years, doesnt see the light of day.. sometimes it does years later(improved i might add). and other things just go up on preorder out of nowhere without any kind of proto shown or indication it was coming. They seem to promote some stuff thats early and throughout its process and others they are like heres this thing we are doing and then we dont see the rest of the process, like the Kenshiro they have. I mean they have SoulCalibur and Fighting EX Layer, both of which havent seen anything come from them yet. They have licenses that have barely been touched with one single figure from the license thats out or have been shown.

But again like I said before, they clearly dont operate at a capacity that we are used to. I see tons and tons of complaints from fans of them. I feel like when they show prototypes, they are almost teasing their fans because people start thinking that stuff is right around the corner or holding to them that those are coming sooner than later when alot of times its still a year or so out if not longer if that. They are also one of the few toy devs that show/promote prototypes which is crazy to me. But I can understand why because the development process can get alittle hairy and things slip through cracks and licensors may want to change things. Like their samurai showdown license was going to be based on Samurai Shodown V and in the middle of development they decided to focus on the new game that was coming out instead so the design was modified and now only the cast from that game is viable to be made.

I do feel the frustration as its like is this thing ever going to come out? The uncertainty of it all is crazy when we are so used to things just being pumped out and companies that for sure have something produced on a timely manner. It took I think 2 or 3 years for Jin Kazama to come out from announcement to full release. He was one of those characters where people constantly complained and asked where he was. Your time will come for your stuff you want im sure. I have yet to see them really cancel anything.

I know you all arent new to Storm right? This is what they do. Im not fully sure why but im sure its not just because of them and more from their licensors ala WB. They start all sorts of new licenses but are just as slow (which im ok with since their stuff is already not cheap). I def understand peoples problems with them being slow tho.. however they are also imports and smaller business with big licenses.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

I wouldnt say they are a master of none. They make some seriously good fighting game and video game related figures that no one came compete with. Plus majority of what theyve made so far are definitive figure versions of those characters.

As for the figure, it looks great but not my scale and not my price range. My only real gripe outside of price and size is their arms just seem too dang small. I know they are going off more realism but They just look emaciated and the joints dont look as strong because they arent thicker.

Very cool, but for a 1/6 scale, gotta fix those elbow joints. Also, I would love to get the previewed 1/12 version of this before they branch off yet again in another direction.
