Yes, If it actually works and doesnt look too bad
For the sake of use, it'd be fine to have if this kind of ab crunch if the company ever releases a captain's chair or com station for a figure to sit at where it would actually be used. But otherwise, as a static figure, it's not really needed - especially if it's gonna cost customers more for extra tooling.
Technically, i dont even think this is a proper ab crunch. But whatever, yeah. There should be some kind of mid-torso articulation. However they do it, just make sure there's actually a decent range of movement. Dont make it like super 7's silverhawks where, technically it exists but the range of movement is near non-existent. So much so that they could've just as well not included it.

I don't see how to vote in any poll, but I hope they drop it.
There is no poll. One votes by saying yes or no in the Facebook thread.

Ab crunch (or rocker), all the way. I can't imagine why they wouldn't do that. I imagine some may feel it interrupts the "flow" of the uniform but I could say the same for the arm and leg joints too, right? Articulation, always.
I wish them luck. I'd love to see the Wrath of Khan uniforms with a open jacket flap variant, and also some wearing the excursion "parka" along with the "bomber" jacket.
I think their line would have the best success with a mix of figures from the Original series, movies, TNG, DS9 etc in each wave.

I hope they can pull off a healthy mix, the mostly obscure with a handful of anchor characters to hold down the wave. I don't know, though. The whole endeavor made me nervous, and I'd like to see them succeed.

Seriously though while I applaud interest in deep dives, you don't do it to the exclusion of the main characters. Hence the outrage they received that's causing them to adjust course. Judging from his comment that they are "talking to Paramount" and they think they've "come up with a solution" , tends to make it seems like you're right, there probably was a licensing issue of some sort involved.
I hope they get it worked out. I'd love an articulated Star Trek Enterprise bridge crew with the TWOK uniforms. Love those uniforms. And anElaan of Troyius figure? Take my money.
I'm just loving that this has gotten some chatter about star trek toys.
