Could be, but historically accurate. This type of helmet was like a 2-in-1 sorta deal - a spartan type helmet with a face plate attached to the front. The stuff they came up with for the games was nuts. I think they over-exaggerated things make it more theatrical and visible to the people in the Coliseum cheap seats
