It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the first wave of 'The Batman' figures from the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse line. With the movie out on HBO Max since monday, I felt it was a good time to check those out. Several other toy brands have since announced their versions of it since (Hot Toys, Mezco, SH Figuarts,...), but one thing that is for sure is that Todd McFarlane beat everybody to the punch, with these figures being available everywhere right as the movie came out, with gigantic themed end-caps full of action figures, 12-inch 'posed statues', etc.. being found all over the place.

First off, Mr. Vengeance, The Batman himself. If you're familiar with the dozens of other Batman figures from that line, you won't be very surprised. It's a good figure with the usual McFarlane Toys articulations ("nO tHiGh sWiVeL? UrGh!") and it will certainly do the job at looking like the Batman from the movie on your shelf, side-eyes and all. The details on the suit and the likeness are very good. Mine came with the seemingly common defect of having a double cowl (basically, the figure came with the cape that the unmasked figure should have, so he has the cowl on his head, and the cowl folded in his back), which sucks but I'll try to get that sorted out. He comes with his grapple gun.

The Catwoman figure is a bit more of a mess. The female body and articulation is okay, the details, how minimal they are, are good, but the only issue I would have with that figure is that she never really wore the mask that way in the movie. The mask did not cover her mouth in the movie, and she either had it not covering her mouth, or not at all, so that version is kind of a weird choice. Based on concept art, maybe? Also, she comes with a whip as an accessory, which has to be one of the thickest whips of all time.

Finally, the Riddler, which also looks exactly like he does in the movie, regardless of if you like or don't like the design of his suit. He's using some sort of military thermal facemask to hide his face, along with some saran wrap (the figure has transparent plastic around the hair, great detail). Basic articulation as well, which fits here, since we didn't really see him do any acrobatics in the movie. He comes with the carpet tucker he used in the movie to kill his first victim.

I watched the movie again on monday and I still really loved it. Are you going to watch it? How many times? Let us know in the comments!

yeah & she hardly wore it at all!

I bet they decided on set that they would not do it, the director or the actor or whoever

Lots of anti-mask thing going on in these superhero shows

That Batman actually looks much better than what he looks like in the movie

Yes I also still love the movie! I bought both Bats and Catwoman, also had the defect double mask and inverted abs, returned it twice to the online retailer, found a good one at Target in store, much happier now! Agree that the Catwoman mask design is bizarre. She's a good figure, just wish they would have made a version with the one from the movie. McFarlane should definitely make an in-scale Batmobile from the movie. Maybe a bit higher quality than the 66 one, but still a relatively REASONABLY priced Batmobile to go along with this line.
