It's
Wednesday and you know what that means...
ToyFarce reviews!
This week, we're having a look at the first figure from the new
NECA line of
Universal Monsters x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Raphael as the Frankenstein's monster.
NECA has been killing it with their
TMNT line, and with their
Universal Monsters line, so there is no reason why they wouldn't keep doing that with those crossover figures.
First things first, the
art box is gorgeous, with
old-fashioned, horror movie poster vibe, and bright colors. That is definitely something that will catch your eye on a shelf. If I had more space to display it, I'd be tempted to put the figure with the box behind it. It has the usual
NECA box velcro at the front, to reveal the figure through a window. And first impression: that thing is
HUGE!

Frankenstein's Monster Raph comes with
2 extra pairs of hands (closed fists and weapon gripping hands) and
lightning bolt sais, which look awesome. But the best part of that figure is all the details on it.
NECA did a fantastic job in adding details to the figure to make it look more... "
Boris Karloff-y" ? The face has the classic
Frankenstein's Monster shape, with a forehead that's more like a
fivehead, the scars, the haircut and the bolts in the neck. The figure also has a
chain around it, as if to hold the shell together. The
shell has some amazing details, like a
NY city sewer cover used as part of the shell, a
handlebar to pass the chain in or a
pressure gauge. Stellar job on the details and paint.

Those figures have also had incredible
stop-motion promotional videos, made by the super talented
DGDX animation, which I invite you to check on
NECA's social medias. The next ones will be
Leonardo as the Hunchback,
Michaelangelo as The Mummy,
April O'Neil as The Bride of Frankenstein, and recently announces,
Splinter as Van Hellsing. You can be sure that I will be getting those!
