It's
Wednesday, and you know what that means...
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the
1/6 scale figure of the
Joker from
Batman: The Animated Series by
Mondo, the
SDCC limited edition version. The
Mondo 1/6 scale figures have been pretty great until now, and that
Joker is no exception. The figure itself is easily the best of that line, and the different heads and accessories are just the cherry on top!
As usual with
Mondo, the box is a work of art, with 2 of their
amazing prints on it. It is a huge box too, which opens in the front thanks to magnets (
how do they work?). There are 2 layers of inserts inside (A hand had gotten loose during transportation, and I could hear it move inside the box which gave me a mini panic attack).

The
Clown Prince of Crime comes with a ton of accessories:
5 extra heads (3 extra heads for the standard version, with the
top hat version and the head from the '
Be a Clown' episode being the exclusive ones for this set),
5 extra sets of hands (12 hands in total),
2 smiling fishes, a normal (ball)
bomb, a
Joker dynamite stick, a
Joker stack of dynamite, an
ice pick, his
playing cards and a
stand. That is A LOT of accessories!

With
6 different heads, he is only 2 heads short of being the 12 inch version of the
DC Collectibles Expressions Pack. The various expressions are:
Smiling,
Smug,
Laughing,
Sad,
top hat version and '
Be a Clown' version. The heads and hands are very easy to change, which is always a plus. The
cel shading on the figure is nicely done too, with the back of the figure being a darker purple than the front. Articulation-wise, it does the job, even with single elbows and knees, ball joints for shoulders and legs, and swivels all around. Not torso/ab articulation, the jacket is a big rubber part on top of the body.

It is a great figure, and my only complaint about it is the price. At
$235, it is the most expensive of that line so far (
Batman was $125 four years ago, Mr Freeze was $130 and Catwoman $165 only a couple of years ago). I get that he comes with a ton of accessories + inflation, etc... but it is still a tough pill to swallow...
and yes, I bought it anyway. The limited one, even. I know.
