If you've been on social media (
especially Facebook groups) for a while, you probably have witnessed this a few times: A collector posts a
picture of a new action figure, or of his collection, and the entire
comment section has questions about something else. "
What shelves are you using?", "
Which lights are those?", "
Is that wallpaper from Home Depot?",... We interviewed Nicolas, who recently posted a picture of his collection.
"
I would be lying if I said that I wasn't fishing for compliments." said the collector. "
I am proud of my action figure collection, so I posted a nice picture in a few Facebook groups. Then, I started feeling the excitement as I saw that there were notifications on the pictures... I expected the comments to be about the cool toys, or the rare action figures that I have on display... I didn't expect all the comments to be about what type of shelves, what type of glass cabinets or what type of lights I use. People commenting to each other about furniture and lighting fixtures! It's Detolf, guys! It's ALWAYS Detolf!"
"Another recurring thing is when I post a picture with
one action figure in focus, I get questions about things that are in the background... '
Which figure is that in the background?', '
What's your cat's name?', '
What brand is that TV?'..."
